Studies on the Effect of Panax Ginseng to the Urinary 17-Ketosteroids and Inflammatory Reaction

Abstract
1. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of Korean Panax Ginseng as an aphrodisiaca the urinary excretion of 17-Ketosteroids was examined by the admitted patients with various disorders before and after administration of waterly extract of Ginseng. There was no elevation of 17-Ketosteroids excretion after Ginseng administration.
2. Waterly extract of Ginseng enhances intracutaneous local inflammatory reaction induced by Pyrexal (lipo-polysaccharide of Salmonella abortus) which was inhibited by autihistamin.
